The National Emergency Management Agency said an 18-seat bus has plunged into the Arun River in Ogbere, Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday night.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer, NEMA in the South West, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, on Thursday did not indicate if the bus conveyed passengers at the time of the crash.
Farinloye added that relevant agencies were battling to recover the victims.
"NEMA in strong partnership with Ogun State Government, Ijebu East LGA, FRSC and police have mobilised local volunteers and divers who know the terrain well to commence recovery of the victims.
"The recovery exercise has just commenced," he stated.
